Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (corn, peas, carrots)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups cooked noodles or rice
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the meat. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in the mixed vegetables and cook for another 2-3 minutes until warmed through.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme. Stir well until fully blended.
  6. In the skillet, combine the meat and vegetable mixture with the cooked noodles or rice. Pour the soup mixture over the top and stir until everything is evenly coated.
  7. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
  9. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  10. Once baked, let it cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
