This Balsamic Fig Glazed Chicken recipe offers a quick and easy way to prepare a flavorful chicken dinner. The sweet figs and tangy balsamic vinegar create a delicious glaze that perfectly complements tender chicken. It’s an ideal meal for a weeknight or a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup chopped dried figs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar, chopped dried figs, honey, minced garlic, and rosemary.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the figs soften and the glaze thickens slightly.
  4. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  5. Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Pour the balsamic fig glaze over the chicken.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Let the Balsamic Fig Glazed Chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a thicker glaze, simmer for a few extra minutes.
  • You can substitute fresh figs if they are in season.
  • Serve with your favorite side dishes like roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
