Ingredients
Scale
2 pounds beef (such as sirloin or flank steak), sliced thinly
½ cup unsalted butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Slice the beef thinly against the grain.
In a large skillet, melt ¼ cup of the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the sliced beef to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Sear the beef for about 5-7 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally.
Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Stir to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 15 minutes.
If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a bit of water to create a slurry. Add this mixture to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the remaining ¼ cup of butter until melted and smooth.
