These crispy tofu nuggets are perfectly breaded and fried to golden perfection, served with a zesty garlic sriracha dipping sauce for an irresistible appetizer or snack.

  • 14 oz Firm Tofu (Pressed and cubed)
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (Optional for extra heat)
  • 1 cup Plant-Based Milk (Such as almond or soy)
  • as needed Oil for frying
  • ¼ cup Mayonnaise (or vegan mayo)
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha Sauce (Adjust to taste)
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Lime Juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap the tofu block in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for about 15-20 minutes. Once pressed, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In one shallow bowl, add the all-purpose flour. In a second shallow bowl, pour the plant-based milk. In a third shallow bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Dip each tofu cube into the flour, shaking off the excess. Next, coat the tofu in the plant-based milk, and finally roll it in the seasoned panko breadcrumbs until well coated. Repeat until all tofu cubes are breaded.
  4. In a large skillet, heat about ½ inch of oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded tofu nuggets in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried nuggets to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sriracha, minced garlic, lime juice, and a pinch of salt. Adjust the amount of sriracha based on your desired spice level.
  6. Serve the crispy tofu nuggets warm with the garlic sriracha dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy!
