  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well blended.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips for an extra layer of chocolate goodness.
  6. Evenly distribute the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling each about three-quarters full.
  7. Place the ramekins in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. They should be set around the edges but still soft in the center.
