Irresistible Turkey Meatballs in Pumpkin Sage Sauce is a comforting autumn dish. Juicy turkey meatballs are coated in a creamy pumpkin sauce with sage and garlic. This recipe is easy to make and perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions. Serve over pasta or with crusty bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground turkey, sage, garlic, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  3. Roll the mixture into tablespoon-sized meatballs and place on a greased baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium heat, combine pumpkin puree, heavy cream, chicken broth, garlic, and sage. Stir until warm.
  6. Add the baked meatballs to the sauce and simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use lean ground turkey for moist meatballs.
  • Fresh sage provides the best flavor.
  • Ensure you use pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • For a healthier option, use whole wheat breadcrumbs and low-sodium broth.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat gently on the stove.
