Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (for sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (for sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced (for sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for sauce)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 minced teaspoon ginger, and 1 tablespoon rice vinegar. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef sirloin to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 minced teaspoon garlic, 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, and 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Stir the sauce mixture well and bring it to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  6. If using skewers, thread the marinated Korean BBQ beef bites onto them. Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes beforehand to prevent burning.
  7. Grill the Korean BBQ beef bites for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  8. Remove the beef bites from the skewers and arrange them on a serving platter.
  9. Drizzle the Sweet Soy Sesame Sauce over the Korean BBQ beef bites and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Adjust marinade and sauce ingredients to your personal taste.
  • Serve with steamed rice or grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Wooden skewers should be soaked in water for 30 minutes before use to prevent burning.
