  • 1 pound ground beef or sausage
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or sausage until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth.
  4. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a greased pizza stone or baking sheet.
  5. Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  6. Evenly distribute the cooked meat over the sauce.
  7. Spoon dollops of the ricotta mixture across the pizza, spreading it gently to cover the meat.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the ricotta mixture and meat. Finish with grated Parmesan cheese.
  9. Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Let it cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Slice and serve hot.
