These Pecan Cream Cheese Logs are tender, melt-in-your-mouth cookies with a rich cream cheese and butter base, packed with toasted pecans, and rolled in sweet powdered sugar. They are an easy and elegant treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) Butter, softened
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • Dash of Salt
  • 1 cup Finely Chopped Pecans, toasted
  • Confectioners’ Sugar, for coating

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla extract.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. The dough will be crumbly.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped pecans.
  5. Scoop about a tablespoon of dough and roll it between your palms to form a 2-inch log.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place logs about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the bottoms are lightly golden brown.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 1-2 minutes.
  9. Roll the warm logs in confectioners’ sugar to coat. Place on a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cool, roll the logs in confectioners’ sugar again for a second coating.

Notes

  • Ensure butter and cream cheese are at room temperature for a smooth dough.
  • Toast pecans before chopping to enhance their flavor.
  • The dough is meant to be crumbly; press firmly when shaping logs.

  • A double coating of powdered sugar provides the classic snowy finish.
