Roasted Onion Bomb: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large onions
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup cooked rice (or quinoa)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel the onions and cut off the tops. Carefully hollow out the insides, leaving a thick base to hold the stuffing.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey. Drain any excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, mix the cooked meat with rice, cheese, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Generously fill each hollowed onion with the meat mixture, pressing it down gently to pack it in.
  6. Place the stuffed onions in a baking dish. Drizzle olive oil over the top of each onion.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, allowing the tops to brown slightly.
  9. Ensure the onions are tender and the filling is heated through.
  10. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust seasonings based on your taste.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese.
  • Use quinoa for a healthier alternative.
