Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: sprinkles or chocolate chips for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, drop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. If desired, add sprinkles or chocolate chips on top of the cookie dough before baking.
  8. Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
