Ingredients
Scale
1 pre-made pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
¾ cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: sliced jalapeños for added heat
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
Prepare the Caramelized Onions: In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions, a pinch of salt, and sauté for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until they become soft and golden brown.
Mix the Chicken and BBQ Sauce: In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken and BBQ sauce, mixing well to coat the chicken evenly.
Roll Out the Pizza Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or a pizza stone.
Assemble the Pizza: Spread the BBQ chicken mixture evenly over the pizza dough. Top with the caramelized onions, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake the Pizza: Place the assembled pizza in the preheated oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
Add Fresh Cilantro: Once the pizza is out of the oven, sprinkle the chopped fresh cilantro over the top.
Slice and Serve: Allow the pizza to cool for a few moments before slicing it into wedges.
