Brown Sugar Meatloaf: An Incredible Ultimate Recipe for Your Family

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ cup additional ketchup (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic over medium heat until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, sautéed onion and garlic, eggs, milk, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, thyme, oregano, and paprika. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the additional ketchup and brown sugar until well mixed. Spread this glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Carefully remove the meatloaf from the pan and slice it into portions.
