  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel the onions and trim the ends. Leave them whole for a stunning presentation.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat until bubbly.
  3. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
  4. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Carefully add the whole onions to the pot. Cover and let them simmer for about 30 minutes, or until tender.
  6. Once the onions are cooked, stir in the lemon juice for a touch of brightness.
  7. Taste the broth and adjust seasoning as needed. You can add more Cajun seasoning for an extra kick.
  8. Carefully remove the onions from the pot and place them on a serving platter. Drizzle with the buttery broth.
