1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup lime juice (freshly squeezed)
2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Fresh lime wedges and chopped cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine honey, lime juice, Cajun seasoning, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended.
Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking. If frying or grilling, prepare your equipment accordingly.
Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup. Place the marinated wings in a single layer on the sheet, allowing some space between each wing.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and golden brown. If frying, cook until golden and crispy, about 8-10 minutes per side.
In the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush additional honey over the wings for a sticky glaze.
Once cooked, remove the wings from the oven or grill and let them rest for a few minutes. This helps the juices redistribute, ensuring tender meat.
