Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 round sourdough or Italian bread loaf
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tsp dried)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for a kick

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Using a serrated knife, slice the bread into a crosshatch pattern—cutting almost to the bottom, but not through it.
  3. In a bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, and salt.
  4. Gently open bread cracks and drizzle the butter mixture throughout.
  5. Stuff cheese evenly between all the cuts.
  6. Wrap the loaf in foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake another 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
