Ingredients
Scale
4 large Vidalia onions, sliced
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Slice the Vidalia onions thinly and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they become translucent and slightly caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well blended.
Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese into the mixture until evenly combined.
In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sautéed onions at the bottom. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the onions. Repeat with the remaining onions and cheese mixture.
Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the top of the dish for a crunchy finish.
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Optionally, sprinkle fresh herbs over the top for a pop of color and flavor.
