Copycat Texas Roadhouse Smothered Chicken is a delicious and satisfying dish featuring chicken breasts topped with mushrooms, cheese, and bacon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and sear for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Once the chicken is seared, add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté until the mushrooms are soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken and mushrooms. Then, add the crumbled bacon on top.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. Remove the skillet from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
