  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 8 oz cream cheese (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Warm milk until lukewarm; combine with yeast and a pinch of sugar; let sit until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, melted butter, and salt. Add yeast mixture and egg; combine well.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter over it. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon; roll tightly into a log.
  6. Slice into equal pieces, place in a greased baking dish, and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for approx. 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Drizzle warm rolls with cream cheese frosting before serving.
