Easy Low Carb Pizza Casserole: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe

  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 jar (14 oz) pizza sauce (low-carb if possible)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup sliced olives (optional)
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the diced bell peppers, sliced mushrooms, and onion to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  5. Pour in the pizza sauce and stir until the meat and vegetables are evenly coated. Remove from heat.
  6. In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread half of the meat mixture evenly on the bottom. Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Add the remaining meat mixture over the cheese, then top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  8. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
