Ingredients
Scale
6 strips Bacon (chopped)
2 tbsp Butter
1/2 small Onion (finely chopped)
1 clove Garlic (minced)
1/2 cup Chicken Broth
1 pound Green Beans (halved with ends removed)
1 tsp Black Pepper
Instructions
Brown the bacon pieces in a large skillet over medium heat. When the bacon is crispy, remove it from the pan and drain all but around 1 tablespoon grease.
Add the butter to the pan. When the butter is melted, stir in the onion. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until the onion is translucent then add the garlic and cook one more minute.
Pour in the chicken broth and use a wooden spoon to scrape the bottom of the pan.
Add the green beans and black pepper, along with the cooked bacon. Stir to mix all the ingredients together.
Allow the liquid to come to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pan. Continue cooking for 15 to 20 minutes, until the beans are tender.
