Ingredients
Scale
1 pound of flank steak or chicken
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
8 small corn tortillas
1 cup diced onions
1 cup chopped cilantro
1 lime, cut into wedges
Salsa or hot sauce, for serving
Instructions
In a bowl, combine olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the flank steak or chicken, ensuring it’s well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Prepare the Grill: Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat.
Cook the Meat: Once hot, add the marinated meat to the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
Warm Tortillas: While the meat is resting, warm the corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable.
Slice the Meat: After resting, slice the meat into thin strips or bite-sized pieces.
Assemble the Tacos: Take a warm tortilla and add a portion of the meat. Top with diced onions, chopped cilantro, and a squeeze of lime juice.
Serve with Salsa: Offer salsa or hot sauce on the side for those who want an extra kick.
Enjoy: Share the tacos with your guests or family while they’re fresh and warm.
