Pepperoni and Roasted Jalapeno Pesto Pan Pizza is a delicious and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¾ cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup pesto sauce
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • ½ cup roasted jalapenos (fresh or canned)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional: fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Grease a 12-inch round or square baking pan with olive oil.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to the greased pan. Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the pan to create a crust.
  7. Evenly spread the pesto sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  8. Layer the sliced pepperoni and roasted jalapenos on top of the pesto. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the toppings.
  9. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes. This makes slicing easier.
  11. Optionally, add fresh basil leaves on top before serving.

Notes

  • The dough can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
  • Feel free to adjust toppings to your liking.
