  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 8 ounces uncooked lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef or Italian sausage. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the onion is softened.
  3. Pour in the marinara sauce, broken lasagna noodles, and water. Stir well to combine.
  4. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cover the skillet and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the noodles are tender.
  5. Remove the lid and dollop the ricotta cheese over the top. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly across the skillet.
  6. Cover the skillet again and let it cook for another 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
  8. Remove from heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
