- 1 pound ground beef (preferably 80/20 blend)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 4 taco-sized flour tortillas
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- ½ cup lettuce, shredded
- ½ cup tomatoes, diced
- ¼ cup red onion, diced
- ½ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup salsa
- Optional: jalapeños, avocado, or any other preferred toppings
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently but thoroughly.
- Divide the beef into four equal portions and form them into balls.
- Place each ball in the hot skillet and use a spatula to smash it down into a thin patty. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned.
- Flip the patties and immediately sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
- While the patties are cooking, warm the tortillas in another skillet or microwave until soft and pliable.
- Place a cheesy patty on each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and red onion.
- Drizzle sour cream and salsa over the toppings. Feel free to add jalapeños or avocado for extra flavor.
- Fold the tortillas over and serve immediately while hot.
