Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
8 small corn or flour tortillas
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 ripe avocado, sliced
1/2 cup crema or sour cream
Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
In a bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Toss until the shrimp are evenly coated with the spices.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
While the shrimp are cooking, warm the tortillas in a separate pan or on a grill for about 30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable.
Take a tortilla, layer on some shredded cabbage, add a few shrimp, and top with slices of avocado.
Drizzle crema or sour cream over the top of the shrimp and garnish with fresh cilantro.
Squeeze fresh lime juice over the tacos before serving for an extra burst of flavor.
