  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cooked jasmine rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the flank steak against the grain for tenderness.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  4. Increase the heat to high and add the sliced beef to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  5. Add the sliced red bell pepper and continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes until the peppers are tender.

  8. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the fresh Thai basil leaves until wilted.
  9. Spoon the beef mixture over cooked jasmine rice in bowls, ensuring an even distribution of sauce and vegetables.
