Ingredients
Scale
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup whole milk, warmed
4 large eggs, room temperature
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2–4 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
Add the warmed milk and eggs to the dry mixture. Mix until combined.
Gradually add the softened butter, mixing until a smooth dough forms. Knead for about 5-10 minutes until elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it into a large rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.
Evenly spread the softened butter over the rolled-out dough.
Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
Starting from one edge, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Pinch the seam to seal.
Cut the log into 12 equal slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes until puffy.
While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
While the rolls bake, combine the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla in a bowl. Beat until smooth. Add milk to reach desired consistency.
Once the rolls are baked, let them cool for about 15 minutes before drizzling the cream cheese glaze over the top.
