Valentine Rose & Pistachio Croissant Bake is a delightful dessert perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large buttery croissants
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • ½ cup shelled pistachios, chopped
  • ¼ cup dried rose petals (edible)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the buttery croissants in half lengthwise. Arrange them in the baking dish, cut-side up.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and rose water until well combined.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped pistachios and dried rose petals into the custard mixture.
  5. Carefully pour the custard mixture evenly over the arranged croissants, ensuring they are well soaked. Press down slightly to ensure the croissants absorb the custard.
  6. Allow the mixture to sit for about 15 minutes, giving the croissants time to soak up the custard.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
  9. If desired, dust the top with powdered sugar for an added touch of sweetness and elegance.

Notes

  • Ensure the croissants are fresh for best results.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Customize with your favorite nuts or dried fruits.
